Optical calcite crystals are a kind of natural mineral, single calcite crystal is a negative uniaxial crystal with a large birefringence over the wide transmission spectral range from 200nm to 2500nm. Although calcite is a quite soft crystal that is susceptible to scratch, it is still an excellent material for manufacturing polarizing prisms, beam-divergent elements, laser gates, and other optical devices.
Shanghai North Optics provides various forms and dimensions of optical-grade calcite crystals. We also offer prisms, paired prisms, and polarizers made from calcite crystals: Glan Thompson Prisms, Glan Taylor Prisms, and Glan Laser Prisms, Group Velocity Delay Compensators in femtosecond lasers.
