Dichroic Filters, or Interference Filters are precise color filters that transmit light from a narrow range of colors while reflecting the other unwanted portion. Dichroic filters split light into two components, one component is transmitted and one is reflected. Using a Dichroic filter, a user can select spectral regions of interest and decide whether the separated light spectrum should be utilized or dumped. Dichroic filters function based on the principles of interference, where dielectric thin film coatings are deposited on the filter substrates to obtain constructive interference for certain wavelengths of light and destructive interference for others. Laser line dichroic filters feature enhanced transmission or reflection at specific laser wavelengths. A dichroic laser line filter isolates the harmonic frequencies of lasers from their fundamental frequencies. Because the unwanted portion of the light is reflected instead of absorbed by the filters, laser line dichroic filters can endure light sources with higher intensities.
North Optics offers standard and custom Laser Line Dichroic Filters, implementing a vanguard coating technique, our laser line dichroic provide unmatched transmission/reflection performance at designated wavelengths, while the robustness of our filters ensures long life spans under intensive exposure to radiations. The standard coating options are manifold, include HR@1064nm and HT@532nm; HR@532nm and HT@1064nm; HR@355nm and HT@532nm+1064nm; HR@266nm+355nm and HT@532nm+1064nm; while other coatings and specifications are also available.
