C-Lens is a lens with a specially designed surface profile oriented for fiber lasers. The lenses could be beam collimators, circulators, or other focusing sub-components. One of the most prevalent usages of c-lens is to collimate point light sources to parallel lights, coupling light between different sections (e.g., diode to fiber, fiber to planar waveguide, etc.). In comparison with Grin-Lens, Grin lens has a plane face, while C-lens has a curved face and excels in low insertion loss at long working distances, cost-effectiveness, and excellent capabilities to handle broad working distances.
Shanghai North Optics offers custom C-lens made from Fused Silica or N-BK7 for fiber laser applications. Our C-lenses are rod lenses with a spherical surface at one terminal and an inclined wedge plane at the other terminal designed to transform a single-mode fiber laser into a collimated beam with low insertion loss, or in turn, couple a collimated beam into a fiber. North Optics's C-lenses exhibit outstanding resistance to high power and chemical substances, in addition to a high refractive index in optical fiber communication spectral bandwidth. Both two ends are deposited with anti-reflection coatings to ensure high transmission and efficient power output.
