    North Optics's Polarization Beam Combiner is composed of a half-waveplate or sometimes a dual-wavelength waveplate, and a polarization beam splitter (PBS) cube to either converge two perpendicular polarizations into one fiber or separate fiber light into two perpendicular polarizations. Our polarization beam combiners are non-fiber-based, and instead, we utilize polarization beamsplitter cubes and waveplates, where the PBS cubes operate to divide the orthogonal polarizations and the waveplates function as phase retarders.
