An OEM Laser Module is an independent functional unit furnished with the constituent components for laser generation. These modules are crafted and produced by the original equipment manufacturer. OEM lasers are integrated into larger machines for practical use. OEM lasers allow the division of labor and companies to concentrate on their specific areas of expertise without the need to start from the ground up in developing laser technologies.
Lasers with emission wavelengths longer than1.4μm are often called “eye-safe”, which are far less dangerous to the human eyes than 1-μm lasers with similar output powers. North Optics has developed the eye-safe micro laser module with a wavelength of 1535nm that is utilized in manifold applications such as laser range finder, Lidar, and medical treatment. Our 1535nm OEM laser modules have proven for proper and stable operations in extreme environments with a wide ambient temperature range of -40℃~65℃ and to tolerate violent shock and vibration conditions.
North Optics's 1535nm Eye-safe OEM Laser Module is composed of a single laser diode emitting 940nm output to end pump an Er,Yb:glass laser gain media (A conducive feature of Er,Yb: glass lasers is that its inherent emission wavelength is 1.54 microns, which implies the 1.54 microns laser emission can be obtained without any nonlinear interactions, which is important for eye-safe operation and low-cost fabrication), a Co2+:MgAl2O4 passive Q-switch to produce pulses of nanosecond pulse duration at a repetition rate from a single shot to 10 Hertz, which is sufficient to cover a measurement distance over 2 kilometers. The Eye-safe microlaser is designed and engineered to run over a broad temperature range without temperature control of the pump laser.
