Pixel Level Stepped Filters or Pixel Level (Stepped) Hyperspectral Filters are a kind of specialized optical filters designed to divide the field of view of an imaging system into distinct spectral bands using a stepped pattern. The size of the spectral channel in the column direction is engineered to be an integer multiple of the detector pixel size, while in the row direction, it matches the size of the detector imaging surface. This design ensures full coverage of the detector imaging surface by the filter, facilitating efficient filtering and capturing of all spectral information in the image. Consequently, it enhances the resolution and quality of spectral imaging because the loss of spectral imaging attributing to the aberrations in optical systems is abated, given that spectral signals obtained from each element of the optical system have a consistent response under the same conditions.

North Optics offers Standard and Custom Pixel Level Stepped Filters. We provide standard 32 channel or 64 channel pixel level stepped filters, regarding the custom channels, we offer a selection of channel numbers of 16 channels, 32 channels, and 64 channels. The arrangement patterns are available in multiple options, including one line of each channel in the center of the target plane, multi-channel periodic arrangement of the whole target plane, single channel and multi-line of the whole target plane coverage, etc. With their compact design, high-precision spectral filtering prowess, and high-spectral resolution, these pixel-level step filters provide excellent performance in demanding imaging and industrial environments.
